Offered is an automatic / motorized Gas Damper Vent from an estate
AVI ( Avant industries inc USA) Automatic Gas Appliance Damper Vent
I don't think this was ever installed or used,
I think it is new old stock that has been on a shelve for quite some time
There is no dirt built up inside the pipe like you would see on a used damper
and the pipe has never been screwed and shows no signs of past installation
This damper has a light and a switch on the box,
when turned on the flap opens smoothly and the light illuminates, when switched off it closes
It could also be controlled via a thermostat etc. by breaking the switch power if needed
The pipe is a heavy gauge  6" stove pipe, the box is approx. 4" by 5" by 6", overall it is approx. 11 1/4" tall
It was labeled for gas venting but it could be used for other purposes
