    Description

I purchased this unit new from Sencore some years ago. It's actually a DekTec DTU-234 that Sencore relabeled and sold. It has been well taken care of, and looks and operates like new. It is a USB type analyzer and must be paired with a laptop and the RFXpert software. It features both manual and automated testing of NTSC-M analog, QAM (64 and 256) and 8-VSB (ATSC) signals. QAM and 8-VSB testing include the constellation diagram, an 'eye' diagram, plus MER, EVM and BER readings for complete testing. The RFXpert software also lets you choose 2 parameters to monitor over a user-set period of time to look for parameter variations including intermittent conditions. Analog NTSC-M measurements are limited to RF amplitude and C/N. The software includes the ability to build your own testing plans, and will auto-scan your signal lineup and detect the signal formats you select, then build an appropriate channel plan that you can edit if needed.
It also features fully automated testing of user chosen parameters; with the results available in tabular form, or they can be exported in .csv format for importing into an Excel grading spreadsheet. It's been some time since I timed a run, but if memory serves correct it will fully auto-test 40 to 50 QAM carriers in around 15 minutes!  An automated testing run simply requires that you select a channel plan, name the run, and then press START and wait for your results on-screen or to be exported and saved.
Finally, the RFXpert software includes the ability to capture any waveform or store a video of your testing, which can be handy when dealing with intermittent problems.
I cannot issue a calibration certificate on this unit, but I have several other calibrated spectrum analyzers that make these same measurements, and through comparison I'm convinced the unit is still within original manufacturer specifications.
Please see the photographs for testing examples of QAM (256), 8-VSB and the RFXpert software. When the unit ships I'll include the latest version of RFXpert plus instructions on how to install the software and transfer the software license to your computer. Also, just a reminder that the laptop shown in some pictures is NOT included with the auction.
Be sure to email me with questions before placing bid or making an offer. Preferred payment method is via PayPal, and payment must be received before the unit will be shipped. Shipping will be by USPS Priority Mail.
