Introduction:
Adjustable film applicator is used to achieve uniform film thickness on a flat substrate. Since the gap is adjustable, it can reduce the need for various fixed gap applicators. The gap can be set between 0 and 5000 microns, and the bottom edge of the squeegee scrapes about half of the wet film thickness of the gap. The adjustable film applicator has a variety of film widths to choose from, and the width can be selected from 5 to 20 cm. The film applicator has an extended edge to gather the paint during the film coating process, and can manually apply high-concentration and viscosity liquids on a solid and flat substrate.
How to do
Place the applicator on a completely flat test surface. Adjust the scraper to the required gap; it should be twice the required wet film thickness.
In the front section of the coating knife, pour a small amount of test sample between the end plates. Move the instrument over the surface at a slow and uniform speed (approximately 1-2 cm per second) until the liquid has been completely coated and/or any remaining liquid has been removed from the end of the coating path.
The exact ratio of the wet film thickness to any coating knife gap depends on the material used, the viscosity and texture of the liquid, the force applied on the coating knife, the coating speed, and the geometry of the coating edge
The actual coated wet film should be measured with a wet film thickness gauge, and the gap should be adjusted until the desired wet film thickness is reached. Maintenance and maintenance
The two ends of the scraper move in the groove, and the groove must be kept at all times without test samples.
The micrometer head may occasionally need to be repositioned to correct for wear or misalignment. To achieve this adjustment, the components must be lowered or raised.
This can be achieved by loosening (not removing) the two hidden fixing screws 4 on each differentiator.
