    Description

RARE WWII ROBESON USMC FIGHTING KNIFE W/SHEATH - RESTORED.  One of the rarest and most desirable U. S. fighting knives of WWII is the Marine fighting knife made by the Robeson Cutlery Company.  Only 10,000 of these knives were made for the Marines in early WWII and with the heat, humidity, salt water, and dangerous combat conditions the Marines faced in their Southwestern Pacific island campaigns many were lost and those which survived often suffered severe rust, rotten spacers, broken-off pommels and other similar conditions.  As a result, finding a Robeson USMC in excellent or better condition is a rare find and it will command a premium price in the thousands of dollars.  Here is one I have tried my best to restore to original condition by hot-bluing it blade and doing some other, minor touch-up work.  As a result, as shown by the photos, it is in near mint, original condition, but because it is restored you can buy if for much less than an original one in similar condtion.  And, it is accompanied by its original Robeson USMC sheath which is in excellent condition.  If you have any questions, please ask before buying or making any offer.  Thanks.
