Description
We got this from the closing sale at a first class electronics factory in Minneapolis. Unfortunately, the chamber was nowhere to be seen. So if you have a chamber but no controller, contact us and to increase the value of both our treasures!(Or maybe your controller is fried or maybe you like spare parts like I do.)
Vena designs and builds custom environmental testing chambers.
The control box contains a 24 VDC power supply, a Vena “Vac” control board sporting a PIC 16074A microcontroller with 8 onboard pressure sensors and 10 - 24 VDC output controllers which control 8 chamber pressure Valves, 1 air or vacuum selector solenoid and, a solid state starter for a Vacuum pump.
Another key missing piece is the PC software, an RS-232 connection that the unit sits and waits for after the POST (which exercised all the valves before waiting). I called Vena and they were willing to supply a copy of the software to a potential customer. And they would probably build a new 8 chamber unit.
So this box could maintain 8 different altitudes in 8 chambers. I don’t really understand why. If production testing, why not 50 at-a-time in 1 chamber? If prototyping, why 8 chambers? Maybe they varied the temperatures as well?
