Description
This is a very rare item , I'm told . Please note I am not an expert on this item at all, this is a fantastic collectors item in my opinion , the knife looks all original to me , but I'm not an expert so all this information is just my opinion , you'll have to be the judge of this fantastic WWII US 1914 KNIFE . The pictures were taken with and without a flash, so you can see the different look of this item, there's even a little bit of tape on the blade itself, that I did not take off, will come off very easily. This fantastic collector's item has a Makers Mark S A 1914 , and some sort of cool Maker's Mark between the S and the A that looks like , a ball of fire to me , and the other side it says US 20174 . now I believe this is an all original US trench knife. Now this item does have a date on there 1914 , or it may just be a maker's number, don't know exactly where it's from , or what the Maker's Mark between the S and A is , but still a fantastic collectors item and original. NOW THE KNIFE ITSELF DOES HAVE A CRACK in the handle, but the handle and the knife itself , are still very solid and still well made , this knife is not shaking at all , and is still very solid to me , seems to be a very very well made item , but there is a missing part in the handle see pictures.. This fantastic collector's item is mostly all metal , and has a leather sheath with it , don't know if leather sheath is original , but this is exactly the way I found this beautiful collector's item, either way I think this is a fantastic item, and a great gift for any collector or any collection. Now this item was found on the east coast of the United States, the Maryland area to be exact. Please also note I did not clean this item up at all , this is exactly the way I found it , which I think is fantastic. On the sheath itself , it has initials carved in the leather , looks like PLR , on the inside of the sheath, I think it's very cool , and gives the item Great Character . I was told that this item was bought at an auction, in the 1960s, but there's no paperwork for that. Now this item does have , scratches , and part of the handle is missing , the cracked part, you can see this in the item, this is a used item, this item is not perfect, but a fantastic collector's item in my opinion. I think this is a fantastic World War II collector's artifact. . this beautiful item should clean up really nicely, if that's what you choose to do, or leave it just the way it is , and add it to a super cool collection. You can even restore this item, if you like to. this is a really really sharp looking collectors item in my opinion . this knife is approximately 14 and 1/2 inches Long total , from the handle to the tip , and about 3 inches wide in the middle at the widest point... (PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES) ..... if you have any comments on this item , that would help me learn a little bit more about this collector's item , I would love to hear from you ,if you have the time thank you. This is the only one that I have at this time. If you have any questions at all, or need more pictures, feel free to contact me. Thank you so much for looking and good luck.
